Player Focus: Vanessa Rousso Makes Move With J6O And Mucks Against QQ

For those who have read the news that has been making the rounds in most forums, Team PokerStars pro Vanessa Rousso’s J6o still remains the talk of the town. Without much ado, here’s what happened.

During the 2013 European Poker Tour Grand Final Main Event, action seemed to be smoking hot and it only got hotter when the following hand went down. Romanian pro Ignat “0Human0” Liviu raised to 1,200 from the button only to be answered by Rousso’s 3-bet from the small blind to 3,200. Liviu took the opportunity to 4-bet to 8,000 followed by Rousso’s call which led to the flop.

After Rousso checked the flop, Liviu tabled 7,500 and the Team PokerStars pro made the call only to bring out the on the turn, at which point Rousso check-called yet again, this time for 16,500. It was then that Rousso started to attract attention, due to the large pot which only seemed to be getting bigger.

However, the action and especially the drama were far from over. The river brought out the followed by Rousso’s check. The Romanian pro immediately moved all-in for a total of 22,375 after which the PokerStars pro went deep into the tank. After a series of poker faces, Rousso blurted in disgust,

“I hate this hand”, and eventually made the call. Liviu tabled for a rivered set to which the surprised Rousso responded,

“Oh my god, that’s so sick, wow, so sick…”, as she threw her cards into the muck.

Nevertheless, since Liviu was all-in, Rousso had to table her cards. When the floor staff pointed this out to her, she snapped and said,

“I don’t have to show my cards! Call the floor over!” to which the staff member responded,

“I am the floor”. The railbirds chuckled as Rousso added,

“That’s bullsh*t!” and finally turned over , which left the rest of the table astounded. The table broke right after this hand leaving Rousso enough privacy to tweet the following:

Sometimes you get a soul read and you’re wrong. Sometimes you try to be a hero with the J6 off and they have the old QQ for the rivered set.
