2017-18 World Series of Poker Circuit Schedule Announced

On Wednesday the schedule for the 14th season of the World Series of Poker Circuit was announced. The 2017-18 calendar includes a record 26 stops, kicking off with the WSOPC Harrah’s Cherokee on Aug. 2, 2017 and continuing through the WSOPC Harrah’s New Orleans which kicks off on May 10, 2018. The International WSOP Circuit also has more than another dozen stops planned, with a future announcement of a finalized schedule expected to be released soon.

The main WSOP Circuit schedule features three new stops this season. Thunder Valley Casino in Nothern California will host the tour twice, with the first stop running from Sept. 14-25 and the second from January 11 – 22. The third new addition will take place at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Hollywood from Sept. 21 – Oct. 2.

“We are very proud of what the WSOP Circuit has become and how it has performed for our partner casinos who have come aboard,” said WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart. “Players know they get a consistent structure and schedule at each stop, plus the opportunity to win big prizes as well as their seat into the million-dollar freeroll with a WSOP gold bracelet up for grabs.”

As Stewart mentioned, the season will once again culminate in the gold-bracelet-awarding Global Casino Championship, an event players must qualify for that features $1 million in added money. Players can win their way into the event for free by taking down a WSOP Circuit main event, by winning a casino championship or by being one of the top 50 cumulative WSOP Circuit point earners over the season. These players won’t be the only ones in the field, though. The top 100 ranked players from the previous year’s WSOP player of the year rankings and any player who has won a WSOP Circuit ring event that season can buy into the tournament for $10,000, which will be added (rake-free) to the $1,000,000 prize pool provided by the WSOP.

The World Series of Poker’s press release only listed the dates of the stops and not yet the final schedule of events for each series, but noted that that information will be released once the schedules have been approved by their local regulatory body. The press release did note that each of the 26 stops will offer 12 official gold ring events, including a $1,675 Main Event.
