Online Poker: Viktor Blom Ends Downswing With Huge May

Things are finally turning around for Viktor “Isildur1” Blom.
After about a year and a half of losing or break-even results on PokerStars, the Swede turned in a roughly $650,000 May, according to tracking data from HighstakesDB. Blom, who has lately been battling at the $1,000-$2,000 mixed games, lost nearly $500,000 last year.
The huge May for Blom puts him on the winning track again after he had $3.5 million in profits in 2015, his best year ever on PokerStars. Blom’s stellar 2015 was aided by a $1.3 million week.
He’s up $2.1 million lifetime on the the software. Blom lost $4.7 million on Full Tilt between late 2009, when he burst onto the poker scene, and mid-2015.
Blom’s profits on 2017 trail only the $970,000 won by Russian pro Timofey “Trueteller” Kuznetsov.
Blom has played 75,000 hands this year, so he’s won about $8.5 per hand played. His recent opponents include Dan “w00ki3z.” Cates, who is down slightly on 2017, André “Sira Al Aziz” Santos and Rui “PepperoniF” Cao.
It looks like Blom will skip the WSOP once again this year. He last cashed at the annual summer poker festival in 2012.
