British pro Chris ‘moorman1’ Moorman makes poker history as the first online multi-table tournament player to exceed over $9 million in total winnings. Chris completely dominated the online MTTs with no significant competition as Jeremy ‘daisyxoxo’ Fitzpatrick, his runner-up, was short of $6.3 million. A few days ago, Moorman’s exact online earnings amounted to a gigantic $9,068,025. He acquired $4,303,305 from playing in the world’s largest online gaming operator PokerStars and another $3,193,044 from its sister company Full Tilt Poker. Chris accumulated the rest of his earnings from other poker sites.
With a legendary achievement of gaining 13 Triple Crowns within a six-year period, ‘moorman1’ is now considered to be the most successful online tournament poker player of all time. Chris has three titles more than Hungarian Peter ‘Belabacsi’ Traply with 10 Triple Crowns. Moorman broke his own record last month and added his most recent Triple Crown from tournaments on Party Poker, PokerStars, and Full Tilt Poker.
Obtaining a Triple Crown title isn’t easy as it is earned only when a player emerges victorious in three poker tournaments at three different online sites in a span of one week. Tournaments should have a minimum of 100 participants and a prize pool amounting to at least $10,000. In addition to that, satellite tournaments don’t count.
Based on the data on PocketFives, the British pro is the sole member of the community who is sporting a $7.5 million cash badge. But Chris isn’t only a skilled online poker player, he has also taken down live circuits by storm. At the 2011 WSOP No Limit Hold’em Main Event in Europe, he claimed the 2nd place and banked a massive $716,000. In that same year, he tore down the WSOP €10,000 No Limit Hold’em Main Event for an eye-popping $1,068,690.
According to the Global Poker Index, he has amassed a total of $2,700,162 in live earnings. Moorman is currently ranked 12th in UK’s GPI Top 100.
