British pro Chris “Moorman1” Moorman isn’t considered as one of the finest online multi-table tournament players for no reason. On February 14th, 2013, Moorman won the 13th Triple Crown of his entire online career. A ‘Triple Crown’ is a distinction created by PocketFives and to acquire one, a player has to adhere to its rules.
To earn a ‘Triple Crown’, a player must win three multi-table tournaments within a week. According to the rules of acquiring a Triple Crown, a player is required to crash these tournaments on PocketFives’ list of acknowledged sites. The prize pool for each of these tournaments must be at least $10k and should have a minimum of 100 players. Satellite tournaments do not qualify for the Triple Crown.
Chris is closely followed by Hungarian pro Peter “Belabacsi” Traply, a 10-time PocketFives Triple Crown winner. It all started when Moorman chopped through a 117-player field in a $30,000 Guaranteed Full Tilt Poker tournament for $9,800. A couple of days later, Chris conquered a tough field of 152 players and seized the $15,000 Guaranteed Speed bwin, adding $3,900 to his bankroll.
Chris Moorman accomplished his Triple Crown when he battled a 394-player field and won in a $109 No Limit Hold’em Turbo 2x Chance online for $12,000. In 2011, Moorman finished 3rd in a $1k Monday on Full Tilt for a whopping $235,000, his largest online score to date. That same year, he finished runner up in the €10,000 No Limit Hold’em Main Event in France and took home an eye-popping $1,068,690 that he won at the 2011 WSOP.
Overall, the British pro managed to accumulate $25,700 over three events which boosted his online tournament winnings to approximately $9m. Moorman currently holds the record of most Triple Crowns.
